New Image of the Miyoo Flip Appears Online

Remember the Miyoo Flip that was teased way back in March? Well, a new image on the Miyoo website gives us our best look at the Game Boy SP-style handheld to date.

Today’s image reiterates the use of the quad-core cortex A55 processor and confirms the device will ship with two SD card slots, which normally translates to one for ROMs, one for the operating system.

The use of the A55 also means the Miyoo Flip should, in theory, be more powerful than the Miyoo Mini Plus. I wouldn’t expect a massive leap on the power front, but the extra juice should mean some of the more troublesome 16-bit titles will run much smoother.

Given that Anbernic has already shipped the RG35XXSP, a device I reviewed for GamesRadar and loved, is there a place for the Miyoo Flip? I’d wager there is. The extra sticks give it an advantage over the Anbernic offering, especially when potentially playing PS1, and as Miyoo has waited, there’s a chance it’ll feel less like it’s going to fall apart. I do love the RG35XXSP, but let’s be real, it feels super-cheap.

As of this writing, no release date has been revealed, but should that change, I’ll be sure to let you know.

Thanks, RetroSpecd.
