Vampire Survivors DLC

The excellent Vampire Survivors is getting its first downloadable content (DLC) pack on December 15.

The Legacy of the Moonspell DLC is set to cost $1.99 and introduces a new stage, eight new characters, new monsters, 13 new weapons, and six new music tracks. Presumably, this DLC won’t add vampires, because that would be silly.

“In eastern lands, a clan has fallen,” reads the Steam entry.

“The Moonspell, once vigilant guardians of a sorcerous valley nestled in the mountains, have been overrun by hordes of yokai and oni. Though treacherous, this hive of spectral activity may provide some clue as to the location of a vampire. If not, at least it’ll be entertaining to defeat thousands of wayward spirits in the process.”

Vampire Survivors remains 2022’s breakout indie hit. It’s the type of game you can’t do justice to with screenshots or words. It’s a roguelike, sure, but it’s also so much more. What starts as a game of learning, curiosity, and death quickly turns into something you won’t want to put down. It’s old-school fun with a modern twist. Seriously, go play it, it’s the best $3.99 you’ll ever spend.

While we’re on the topic, if you happen to be running through the character unlocks gauntlet, be sure to check out how to unlock big Gains Boros. It’s a fun little quest that has players galavanting over maps in search of flowers. Yes, flowers. Don’t ask.

Alternatively, if you fancy learning more about the Steam Deck – in both handheld and docked mode – be sure to read over our guide to the Steam Deck’s resolution. Or, if you’ve got a Wii U and a copy of Zelda taking up space, did you know you can mod Breath of the Wild on Steam Deck?
