Although Chinese New Year is still in full effect, JSAUX has shown the Steam Deck back plate accessory.
Some backstory: In early January, JSAUX held a vote to determine which color back plates potential owners prefer. The choices were purple, green, orange, and yellow. Now, with the voting closed, JSAUX has said the purple and green back plates will move into production this coming April.
The back plate is, as you’d expect, a case for the back of the Deck. Why isn’t there a front? I’d wager taking off the back isn’t likely to result in any damage to the Steam Deck itself, but the moment you start playing with removing the front, the potential for accidental damage goes way up.
The new case comes on the back of JSAUX sharing what the company’s plans for the future entail. Those include a new modular case, power bank, and an 11-in-1 dock.
Speaking of docks, I reviewed the three main JSAUX Steam Deck docks and came away pleasantly surprised. They’re high-quality and a much more budget-friendly option compared with the official Steam Deck dock. For the price, you really can’t go wrong.
