The company behind the much-loved Odin console has lifted the lid on its Windows-based handheld device, the AYN Loki.
There’s a lot to get through, but we now know the price and full specifications of the AYN Loki and have a rough release window.
AYN Windows Handheld: What Is It?
The AYN Loki will feature a very similar design to that of the AYN Odin, albeit with a pearly white aesthetic or transparent black depending on which version you fancy.
The idea here is a powerful gaming machine capable of playing select PC games as well as high-end emulators. Think the Odin, but with a focus also on PC games. The Loki is pretty much that.
If you’ve wanted to play GameCube games from the comfort of your couch, that’s the hook of the Loki.
AYN Loki Redesign

After months of relative silence, AYN has taken to the official AYN Discord server to reveal a new look for the AYN Loki.
The biggest change is the overall shape and size of the AYN Loki. Originally coming in at 224mm by 95.2mm, the new design is slightly larger at 248mm by 98mm.
Likewise, the shape of the console now takes a more Anbernic-like approach, with a much more rectangular design.
Elsewhere, the d-pad is now parallel with the right stick and moves closer to the screen. The left stick, meanwhile, sits more diagonal to the d-pad. Two speaker grills now flank the screen, as do the options buttons.
The color scheme has changed slightly as well. Opposite colors (so black on the white console) have now been removed to leave the console with a cleaner aesthetic.
AYN Loki Specs
With the specs of the AYN Loki finally revealed, we now know what’s in store.
It’s worth remembering, the AYN Odin Pro is capable of running Windows. It’s not a Steam Deck by any means, but for indie games and video games akin to the Xbox 360 era the Odin Pro does a killer job, and those games look stunning on the Odin’s 5.98-inch screen.
Even though the Odin Pro is primarily an Android machine, the onboard specs make it possible to run Windows should users wish to change the operating system. If we’re going off the specs of the Odin Pro, the AYN Loki should work in a similar fashion, with the more powerful devices offering up faster speeds and higher game compatibility.

AYN has officially confirmed the price of the Loki console, and in keeping with the promise of “the most affordable Windows handheld ever created. Period,” offers up different varying price points depending on specs and storage size.
The most affordable version of the AYN Loki comes in at $239 – a price we predicted – while the most costly rides a premium tag of $775.
- Loki Zero – AMD/Clear Black – $249 ($199 for pre-orders)
- Loki Mini Intel – $239
- Loki Mini AMD – $260
- Loki Mini Pro Intel – $279
- Loki Mini Pro AMD – $299
- Loki Max – Black/White – $775
From the Odin Indiegogo page, AYN makes a point of emphasizing the Loki is not another cookie-cutter company designed to create rushed, low-quality products to fill a void.
“We grew tired of seeing the same companies release overpriced products day in and day out while failing to address popular demands,” says AYN.
“We believe that a great product is one that is tailored toward the needs of the customer. That is why we spend time listening to the voices of our consumers.”
Loki Release Date

We originally said we expected the Loki to arrive around October time. As it turns out, AYN has stated reservations are for Q4.
What’s also interesting is the AYN Loki is going to have to fight off competition in the form the Aya Neo Air.
Aya Neo is one of the biggest players in the handheld PC space, and the Aya Neo Air is meant to be the company’s first affordable Windows handheld.
With the cheapest Air console coming in at $549, this means AYN’s claim to release the “most affordable Windows handheld,” is accurate until someone comes along and makes something more cost-effective.
Whichever of the two consoles gamers end up flocking to, one thing’s for sure. The handheld PC gaming space is heating up fast, and 2022 is going to be a very interesting year.
