High-end controller and accessory maker GuliKit has a new docking station coming out that’s compatible with the Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally, Nintendo Switch, and AYANEO devices.

Highlights.

  • The dock has a North American Super Nintendo style.
  • Is capable of 100-watt power delivery.
  • Includes three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI out, LAN, and USB-C out.

The Full Story.

GuliKit is getting into the dock game with a SNES-themed device that should be compatible with most handheld PCs and game consoles.

The new docking station features a push-back lid that houses a section to drop the device into. The space also means if you’re using a Steam Deck with a Dbrand Killswitch case, there should be more than enough space for both. No more taking the case off to dock it!

No pricing info or a release date were hinted at, but if GuliKit wants to pip the likes of JSAUX, it’ll need a fairly affordable price tag.

GuliKit Dock Specs.

Device-wise, the retro dock should work with most handhelds capable of outputting a signal to a TV or monitor.

Those devices include:

  • Steam Deck.
  • ASUS ROG Ally.
  • Nintendo Switch.
  • Most AYANEO devices.

The retro docking station includes three USB 3.0 ports, space for four microSD cards, a gigabit ethernet port, and is equipped with up to 100-watt power delivery. That final point means the ASUS ROG Ally should work so long as you have a 100-watt charger.

Lastly, the dock outputs at 60 Hertz and can display up to 4K. Most handhelds can’t go above that, so that seems like a good amount of power for most.

Conclusion.

As someone who has reviewed a lot of docks, I’m always intrigued by how companies keep coming up with new devices.

The GuliKit retro dock is something I’ve instantly fallen in love with. It’s as stylish as they come and the power delivery specs mean it’s almost universally compatible. Price, of course, will be the deciding factor. But if GuliKit gets that right, this could become the go-to dock for people above a certain age.
