The Last of Us Part 1 Is Coming to Steam Deck

Naughty Dog's upgraded masterpiece is coming to Steam Deck early next year.

Following the reveal at The Game Awards that The Last of Us Part 1 is coming to Steam in 2023, Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann has clarified that the game will be playable on Steam Deck.

Fielding a question on Twitter about the Steam Deck compatibility, Drunkmann responded by saying “Ellie and Joel will grace the Steam Deck… don’t worry!”

The Last of Us Part 1 features improved visuals, extra game modes, and a host of new accessibility features including an alternative control scheme, magnification, screen reader, audio cues, combat tweaking, help with navigation and traversal, and improved support to reduce motion sickness.

What’s not clear at this point is what level of support The Last of Us Part 1 will have on Steam Deck. Will it be verified as is the case with Spider-Man and Miles Morales, or will it simply be playable? I’ve reached out to Sony and will update once I hear back.

Either way, fans can find out for themselves when The Last of Us Part 1 launches on Steam on March 3, 2022.
