If you’re looking to get into streaming or YouTube without breaking the bank, Syntech’s new GlowMic aims to be a high-quality budget-friendly device.
Hot on the heels of showcasing the company’s new RGB microphone at GITEX 2023, the largest tech exhibition in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, the GlowMic features a tablet-like design that’s reminiscent of the Razer Serien, albeit with a more traditional stand and a stylish RGB lighting capsule. In terms of the specs worth knowing, the GlowMic features a frequency response of 20Hz – 20kHz, which I’m convinced is the best route for mics.
Mics aren’t like headphones where you want to hear as much as possible. With mics, you want a fixed frequency response so it isn’t picking up random background noises. Sensitivity also comes in at -32dB+2dB, which is slightly lower than the HyperX Quadcast S’s -36dB.
For the sound profile, Syntech opted for a cardioid setup, meaning the mic picks up sound in front of the mic and to the sides. For single podcasts, streaming, and YouTube, that’s ideal (if you’re running a multi-person podcast, you want an Omnidirectional mic instead).
Key Features:
- Cardioid sensors with noise-reducing metal windscreen.
- Gain knob and fine-tuning via the headphone jack.
- 270-degree base.
- Plug and play.
- RGB light capsule design.
- Uses recyclable metal mesh and sponge.
- Perfect for newcomers.
The Syntech GlowMic is due for release in Q4, 2023, and will retail for $35.99 to $39.99.
