After only being available via the Rockstar Launcher, the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition has arrived on Steam and is listed as playable on the Steam Deck.

For those looking to pick up all three games on Steam, the bundle is currently 50 percent off and will set you back $29.99/£27.49.

How playable is GTA: The Trilogy on Steam Deck? According to Valve, the only issues are down to Steam Deck-specific problems:

  • The game’s launcher/setup tool may require the touchscreen or virtual keyboard, or have difficult to read text.
  • The game sometimes shows mouse, keyboard, or non-Steam-Deck controller icons.

Of course, the above notes from Steam don’t take into account framerate, in-game settings, or general problems with the game itself. Still, this is a pretty good sign. Tons of games suffer from the above problems and they are, generally, perfectly playable.

As always, I’ve reached out to Rockstar for a code to test it out on the Deck, so be sure to keep an eye on RetroResolve in the coming weeks for more on how GTA: The Trilogy performs.
