Two photos with a white line separating them. The left image shows The Tulpar handheld on an oak table. The right shows a red haired woman playing on the device.

What’s The Tulpar? That’s a good question as it’s not something I’d even heard whispers about until our friends at Handheld-HQ covered it. As it turns out, The Tulpar is a gaming handheld coming from the high-end German notebook maker, Tulpar Gaming.

Intel briefly showed off the device in a tweet from what appears to be the Intel Extreme Masters event. No specs or processor was mentioned, but given its Intel, a safe bet would be the up-to-Intel Core Ultra 7 processor 155H seen in the MSI Claw.

As for the setup, it’s your typical Xbox controller layout. So that’s A, B, X, and Y with an asymmetrical joystick placement. What did stand out was the rounded L1 and R1 bumpers. Most handhelds normally whack those bumpers along the top of the console rather than around the corners. It’s somewhat reminiscent of a OneXPlayer in that regard.

As this was more of a tease from Intel than a full announcement, no release date or pricing info was mentioned. That said, I’ve reached out the Tulpar Gaming and will let you know if they respond.
