The latest Proton Experimental update for Steam Deck has added some fixes for Tekken 8, The Finals, and Bayonetta is now less likely to crash on certain configurations.
A host of new games are now playable thanks to the update, too. Those new games are The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, Soulworker, Burnout Paradise Remastered, Killsquad, Witch on the Holy Night, True Reporter. Mystery of Mistwood, George McGeehan Gamer Hero, Road to Vostok Demo, and Black Desert Online.

- Space Engineers is again able to connect to a server.

- Resident Evil 2 no longer behaves weirdly when the window [is] dragged around in windowed mode.
- Improved support for input devices with 8+ axes.
- Fixed Bayonetta crashing on certain systems.
- Fixed TouHou Makuka Sai ~ Fantastic Danmaku Festival Part I and II crashing during boss fights.
- Fixed crash in Disaster Report 4: Summer Memories epilogue.
- Fixed crash in Microsoft Flight Simulator when live weather is enabled.
- Added hack to allow Steam Overlay to function with EAC EOS games.
- Improved video playback in BIOMUTANT.
- Made HDR options available on compatible hardware (including Steam Deck OLED) in the following games: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2.
- Fixed VR compatibility with L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files and GTA V R.E.A.L. mod.
- Fixed a few Proton 8.0 regressions:
- Savant – Ascent REMIX no longer hitches during certain animations.
- Fixed METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater – Master Collection Version crashing before the opening cutscene. There’s still audio missing.
- Fixed audio issues when playing intro video in Airborne Kingdom.
- Improved video playback in THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV.
- Improved video playback in Sea of Thieves and Romancelvania.
- Fixed keyboard input registering with a delay and getting stuck in Wild Hearts.
- Fixed Escape from Monkey Island getting minimized on a mouse click.
- Implemented English speech recognition for Phasmophobia.
- Fixed cutscenes freezing in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
- Fixed audio controls and spatialization in VRChat with AVPro.
- Updated file distribution method to save disk space.
- Updated dxvk, dxvk-nvapi and vkd3d-proton to include the latest development work
